Christmas, New Years, and Birthday

Wow, I suck at updating this thing. Like, its not that I forgot about the blog, but I always kept putting it off and eventually I got to the point where I was like, "Wow, there's so much stuff I need to write", so I just kept putting it off. But today June 3, 2014, I'm finally writing about all the stuff I missed. (Kind of weird writing about Christmas in June, but whatever...) Also, see if you can catch how many English mistakes I make! :D

First of all, from what I remember, December was the month where my younger host brother, Franco, graduated from high school. His school had a graduation party which was held at a fancy hotel downtown (Marriot, I think it was) so basically anyone who's anyone went, myself included. It started at around 8 and ended at about 5:30 the next morning! Never danced so much in my whole life!

Anyways, Christmas went pretty well for me. Here, since we're below the equator, Christmas is in summer for us, so it was pretty hot here, but a really cool different experience. In my family, we spent Christmas with just the five of us and my host mom's father. We all went to Church around 7PM and it was as expected, full. Then we went back to the house where we all had a family meal, and we sat around and waited until 12AM, which is when everyone celebrates Christmas here. Kind of weird for me, but I guess that means we open the presents earlier so I'm not complaining XD. For basically the next few days, I was showered with presents from my entire host family and my real one. My real parents got me a new laptop, which was basically my best friend for the summer.(still is really) New Years was pretty normal, so not much to say there.

For vacation, my family and I went to La Serena, which is located about 6 hours north of Santiago. It's like a beach town, so there were people from all over Chile and Argentina who were there. We stayed there for about a week and a half and it was really cool to see another part of Chile.

Lastly, my birthday was on February 4. Being that it was summer, most of my friends were out on vacation, so a lot of them couldn't come see me, but a fair amount of them came. We swam in the pool, and they did this Chilean tradition -_-

Then in March, we started school again -_-. Nothing interesting about that.

But anyways this is a super short summary of basically December-March. I'll do the next update about the trip to the South of Chile I went on with my exchange program.
